Whovian's Unite

So today the topic is Doctor Who. I personally liked Matt Smith as the Doctor. He became darker/more serious near the end of his run. But he was also the "funny" doctor to me. Matt Smith had been given the role of playing the nice, funny doctor and was then told to become darker. For example, when Amy and Rory get married at the end of Series 5, he was both serious and funny. When he was saying goodbye to young Amelia Pond, he was actually upset it seemed, but then at her wedding, he was all happy and dancing. At the end of Series 7 in The Angels Take Manhattan, he had to see Amy upset/devastated that Rory was "gone", and I feel that it devastated him to see that Amy would sacrifice herself to be with Rory. It all came together in The Day of the Doctor. To me, that was when it was at his absolute darkest.
